Why the Microsoft-Yahoo Deal must Happen

Now that makes sense.

I really wonder why Microsoft wants to buy Yahoo, when in fact they should focus more on their Vista branded by many as the most horrible operating system today. After reading this article, I now understand Bill.

Gartner analysts say that Microsoft Windows products are collapsing and Microsoft must make radical changes to survive. Most users today see the browser as the operating system. The web now offers a lot of technologies like Google Docs, which competes with Microsoft Office. And because of this, Windows is now irrelevant. Why do I have to upgrade to Vista or why do I have to buy a new Office product if I can do things through the Internet? And that’s why Microsoft needs Yahoo!.

Vista and Office could be perfect. But this is not the point. The point of the matter is that, Microsoft will not be that relevant enough to stay if people won’t care about upgrading or buying Microsoft products. So how they would survive then? Online advertising. They saw the great opportunity in online advertising revenue, and that’s their only hope.
